Such as, Black‘s remodeling was finally completed, which means that they are open for dinner inside with 22 seats – including a bench seating up to 12 – with 10 seats on the comfortable copper bar stools (first come, first served for full service on site) – and they will be celebrating their 10th anniversary on New Years Eve with a 10-course meal by chef Todd Duplechan. Uh-huh, we love this, too much …

And Fareground, this upscale downtown food court, threw weekend brunch (Sat-Sun, 11 am-5pm) with egg cream bao from Little Wu, a plate of pancakes-and-breakfast-sandwich from Henbit, salmon tartare Austin rotisserie, and – yes, even Following good things, and of course mimosas and Bloody Marys and more to wash it all down with, in their recently renovated and elegantly comfortable inside …

You already know what a big music room is that of Anton is right? For three nights only – December 13, 14 and 15 – acclaimed sushi chef Jean Gocong of Osome takes back the musical joint on East Fifth to offer a 17-course omakase tasting, more sake pairings – followed by live music sets by Soul Man Sam and Suzanne Santo. Ah, you might never have to sing those “Not Enough Wasabi For My Perfect Smoky Unagi” blues …

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream, who has already opened two stores in the ATX (but was unable to party, because pandemic), open a third store in the Triangle (4616 Triangle) and this time they will to throw a soft charlatan – with free ice cream All night long (Thu, Dec 16, 7 pm-11pm) and all kinds of other goodies …

We’re all going a little crazy about it Prince of Bavaria Constantine and its new bierhaus, Koko’s, lately – with reason – but let’s not forget the long-standing Germanic goodness of Scholz Garden and, a little further, the excellent Krause’s Cafe in New Braunfels (in particular on Sat 18 Dec, when the crew of the Krause will celebrate as it should National roast suckling pig day). Meanwhile, at Salt & Time wine store (1912 E.
