The lovely crunch I hear when I bite into a folded potato chip is a snack moment I savor, but I think I’ve just found a new favorite snack that mimics that satisfying moment even better. Since my diet consists of avoiding gluten, dairy, and anything that could definitely upset my sensitive stomach, I don’t often get the chance to try prepackaged snacks. But Dang Foods created a gluten-free, vegan, soy-free, low-fat, Thai glutinous rice crisps so delicious that I have no shame ordering the crisps in bulk for me and me.

Made with six ingredients, crisps are small slices of sticky rice that look like mini rice cakes but don’t have any mousse-like texture. Before being molded, the rice is soaked in fresh watermelon juice and coconut milk, then flavored with sesame seeds and salt, giving it a toasted nutty flavor that is flavorful but not salty. After having had a few (read: swallowing a bag whole in one sitting), I’m certainly known to shake up any leftover crumbs in my mouth, and would gladly do it again for that level of crunch and flavor.

Plus, they’re available in other flavors like toasted sesame, aged cheddar, and sriracha, so I’ll be asking for them as travel snacks, stocking stuffers, and staples for the foreseeable future. Buy Dang Foods Thai Glutinous Rice Chips (6-Pack) ($ 24) for yourself ahead of time and check out some of our other favorite healthy snacks here.
